Rodents are warm-blooded mammals that include mice, rats and squirrels and can be found throughout the world. They are tough to control and may contaminate food, damage property and carry diseases that are dangerous to humans. They have oversized front teeth for gnawing and check teeth, which are adapted for chewing. Rodents chew on a variety of items available to them and cause great damage in and around homes.

Cockroaches are one of the most common pest problems, and are also one of the most stubborn. They tend to breed quickly, have a very high reproductive potential and may develop resistance to pesticides which make infestations difficult to get rid of. Most people blame poor housekeeping for a cockroach problem, and while keeping a tidy home is important to reduce food sources for these pests, they may get inside and cause an infestation for other reasons. These pests can get indoors via cracks and gaps in the home’s exterior or enter through drains or sewer pipes.

Ants come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Poor sanitation is the leading cause of these pests in the home. Leaving crumbs on the floor, food residue on countertops, dirty dishes in the sink and not emptying trash frequently are all top causes for an ant infestation. One of the biggest problems related to ants in the home is food contamination. Ants become a major problem if ants establish colonies in walls, lawns or under home foundations.
